Homes, homes, homes for around $200,000.
I never thought I would see the day, but there are homes in and around LA that many people can afford. Each area is different in terms of price and style. But there are deals in every price range. Some areas are even starting to bounce back already.
We saw buyers galore out yesterday with their agents, like we were with our buyers. There is competition: Everyone we saw yesterday was looking for an affordable home in this incredible market in the LA area.
Were they the fanciest homes on the block? No.
Generally speaking, the most expensive home in a neighborhood might not be the best way to go if getting a deal is your motivation.
Many people find it cost effective to buy a home that needs some TLC so that
1) It is affordable to you now.
2) After you polish it, you can rent it out and have passive income.
3) Or you can live in it and enjoy the pride of home ownership.
Here is what we are seeing:
- Bank owned properties and short sales abound.
- Loans are available for people with good credit.
- Cash is always an acceptable and faster way to buy real estate.
- There are loan programs that have low down payment options.
- We know reputable lenders who can assist you.

This is LA: the coolest place on Earth.
There will always be amazing high end properties and people who can easily afford them. We love to assist buyers in owning those, too.
But owning a home, or rental home, should not just be for those who can afford to spend a lot of money. Stimulating the economy starts with people owning property.
